Teeth Tamers Orthodontics:
Braces are a system of brackets that are bonded to your teeth and hold interconnection wires. Brackets may be made of metal, plastic, or ceramic materials. Ceramic brackets are least noticeable but break more easily. Plastic brackets are translucent or tooth colored, but may stain over time. Metal Brackets are the strongest and most visible.
Initial wires are made of heat-activated nickel-titanium alloy that effectively moves teeth when the wires reach mouth temperature. This allows gradual, consistent, but gentle pressure with fewer adjustments needed that with stainless steel wires. As the teeth align we upgrade the wires to a stainless steel alloy which is more rigid and align the teeth to their final positions. Some teens choose to make a fashion statement by choosing colorful braces to support a school, sports, team or holiday.
